A CHEAP FAN IS A CHEAP FAN!
There is always a way to make a fan cheaper.
Some manufacturers use a small motor with a large capacitor to boost the fan speed, it works – until the motor burns out.
Some manufacturers couple a smaller motor with a smaller blade pitch, it spins as fast as a quality fan, but it doesn’t move the air.
Some manufacturers take a small motor and decrease the gap between the rotor and stator to increase the speed. This will make the fan noisy, inefficient and lead to premature failure.
Some manufacturers go cheap on the vibration dampener – and try as you might that fan is going to be a noisy, wobbly mess.
Some manufacturers skip several of the steps necessary to ensure a lasting quality finish on their fans. The fan may look great when new, but what will it look like in three years? Will it be at the dumpster?
How many fans have you seen at the dumpster? You thought you were saving…
The Monte Carlo and Hunter fans in my home have been working for at least ten years and one has been here since the house was built in the 70’s, need we say more?
